More success for Manx swimmers at British Championships

Charlotte Atkinson proved her pedigree once again as she powered to victory in the British Swimming Championships in Glasgow.

It added to a week that has already seen a number of Manx records broken.

Atkinson registered a time of 26.80 seconds in the Women's Open 50m Butterfly final to take the title.

She finished 0.04 seconds ahead of her nearest rival to be crowned champion and equal her lifetime best.

The three-time Isle of Man Sportswoman of the Year is at the event competing for Loughborough University.

Elsewhere, Olivia Marshall continues to impress after receiving a call-up to the national team for this year's NatWest Island Games in Gibraltar.

In the Women's Junior 50m fly final, Marshall placed third, just 0.24 seconds off eventual winner Sophie Freeman.

Niamh Robinson has also been in good form in Glasgow, swimming a time of 2:32.20 - taking 0.2 seconds off her own national record in the Women's Transition 200m Breaststroke final.

The Mount Kelly competitor finished fifth in the final event of the evening on Wednesday night.
