Peter Bankes was on the Island to address Manx referees

The president of UEFA has criticised what he's called a lack of respect from top European managers.

That's after ten bosses of the 16 clubs still left in the Champions League failed to attend a meeting to discuss the use of video assistant refereeing (VAR).

As many managers have plenty to say to officials during and after a match, Aleksander Ceferin believes they should have turned up and heard the points made in the meeting.

At a recent function on the Isle of Man, professional English Football League referee Peter Bankes spoke openly about dealing with confrontational managers.

He told those present about how professional referees are trained to handle those who have been angered by their performance:
