Doyle signs with Nashville rivals Memphis 901 FC

'Fierce' Manxman commits his long term future to Tennessee club

Manx footballer Liam Doyle has signed with USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC.

The 27-year-old centre back parted company with rival Tennessee outfit Nashville SC having spent over a season with 'The Roadies'.

Taking to Twitter, Doyle says he's excited to commit his long term future to Memphis and is now looking forward to getting started.

The defender made over 54 appearances for Nashville during its first professional season and will be remembered for scoring the club's first ever goal against Atlanta last year.

Memphis Head Coach Tim MulQueen says his new signing is 'a fierce competitor with great experience' whose intensity will be 'infectious to our group.'

The Manxman's inclusion to 901's roster is depends on league and federation approval.
