Corinthians and St George's prepare for Charity Shield

Eric Fletcher Charity Shield at 7.45pm this evening

The traditional curtain-raiser for the new Manx football season will take place at the Bowl this evening.

Corinthians are taking on St George's at the Island's national stadium to contest the Eric Fletcher Charity Shield.

The two clubs shared four trophies between them last season, with the Geordies making it 13 league titles in 15 attempts, as well as clinching the Hospital Cup.

The Whites meanwhile lifted the FA Cup and added a Railway Cup to their trophy cabinet.

Chris Bass, Sr, will be back in the dug-out for the match, after reversing his decision to stand down as St George's manager at the end of the previous campaign.

Kick-off this evening is at 7.45pm.
