Addinall beats 2016 World Champ

Through to L16 of IPA Champions Cup

Manx professional 8-Ball Pool player David Addinall caused a major upset in his live television debut last night (Mon 9).

In the last 64 of the International Pool Association 'Champions Cup', Addinall scraped past fellow newly-turned pro Gary Clarke, winning on a deciding frame.

He then produced a blistering standard of play against 2016 World Champion Gareth Hibbott in the last 32, missing just one pot en route to a 6-4 victory - the most important of his career.

Both matches were streamed live on Freesports TV from 7pm (sky channel 424, freesat channel 252, and freeview channel 95) - as well as Hibbott’s L64 win against Scotland’s Paul Harkness.

Addinall now progresses to the last sixteen - the tournament winner will receive a cheque for £5,000.
