Walking the extra mile for Hospice IOM

House of Cards author supports local charity

A popular author and member of the House of Lords has spent the week walking the Manx coastal footpath in aid of the Island's hospice.

Best known for the political novel House of Cards, which has become a hit television series around the world, Lord Michael Dobbs walked the one hundred-and-thirty mile route over six days.

The life peer's father, Eric, lived on the Island during the 1980s, and spent his final days at Hospice Isle of Man.

Lord Dobbs says he's raising money for the charity so that other families can continue to experience the same level of care:

He was the guest speaker at Hospice Isle of Man's 'A Royal Get Together' event on Saturday (19 May), and is fundraising via the Just Giving page Walk4Eric.
