Union boss keen to 'start talks' ahead of Tynwald meeting

Senior figures from education unions to meet with Island's politicians today

A senior figure in one of the education unions involved in the pay dispute with the Manx government is urging politicians to come forward and start talking.

Several leaders from the NAHT, NASUWT and ASCL are currently on the Island as their members take part in an industrial action ballot, which could lead to a teachers strike.

They're due to meet with Tynwald members later today to explain their side of the situation to MHKs and MLCs.

NAHT general secretary Paul Whiteman is keen to find a solution:
