Numbers down since last month
The Island's unemployment rate has fallen for a second consecutive month, but more than 1,100 people remain without a job.
It now stands at 2.6 per cent, which is down 0.4 per cent from May.
The labour market figures for June have been published ahead of the treasury minister's summer statement tomorrow, where the Island's economic response to the challenges of coronavirus will be laid out.
Unemployment levels are at their highest since 2013, and peaked during the height of lockdown in April of this year, with 1,347 out of job, a record figure in the last 22 years.
According to the latest data, business services, retail and catering remain the sectors with the highest levels of unemployment, with the most job vacancies found in medical services and hospitality industries.
There were 542 vacancies advertised through the Job Centre through June, with 405 remaining at the end of the month, with a fifty-fifty split between full time and part time positions. The drop is down to the reintroduction of a '2 week policy' for advertising roles, brought into to make sure all vacancies are 'live', and to account for those put on hold due to the impact of Covid-19.
