Two ministers to give evidence on horse tram track delay

Committee to hear from range of speakers later this week

Two government ministers will speak about the decision to delay the completion of the horse tram tracks on Douglas promenade later this week.

Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly and Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer will give evidence to the Tynwald committee looking into the Douglas Promenade Scheme.

The chief executives of the two departments, plus the director of highways services and managing director of Auldyn Construction and Colas will appear before the panel.

The session will focus on the recently announced changes to the works, which include completing the road surface without the tramline between the War Memorial and the Sea Terminal, which will be added at a later date.

The Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee will hear from a total of 12 people during Friday morning's hearing, which gets underway at 9am.
