Incidents in Onchan and Santon
It was a busy day for the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service yesterday, with three separate incidents dealt with.
Douglas crews were called to a large fire in the garden of a house on Rosedene Close in Onchan, which was reportedly spreading quickly, at around 4.10pm.
Once in attendance, the crew put the fire out using two high-pressure hose reels.
They were there for about an hour, damping down and checking the area for hot spots using thermal imaging cameras.
Then at around 7pm, crews from Douglas and Castletown attended a shed fire at a property on the Ballavale Road in Santon.
The blaze was extinguished using hoses from both inside the structure and from a ladder, as it had broken through the roof of the shed.
Once extinguished, crews checked for hot spots with thermal imaging cameras, remaining at the scene for about an hour.
Earlier in the day, at around 11am, a gorse and heath fire in a field at Churchtown, Lezayre was dealt with.
