Thought provoking art collection visits IOM

Modern paintings tell an old story

A thought provoking collection of paintings depicting the story of Christ is on display in the Isle of Man for the first time.

Officially opened on Saturday (12 May) by the Lieutenant Governor, there are five weeks to see the 'Awakening' exhibition at four venues around the Island.

The paintings are part of the Methodist Modern Art Collection, a touring exhibition which was established more than fifty years ago.

Secretary of the collection's Management Committee, the Reverend Graham Kent, says the artworks cast new light on well-told story:

The four venues for the exhibition, which are open daily between 10am and 4pm, are the Promenade Methodist Church in Douglas, Ramsey Methodist Church, Colby Methodist Church and Peel Cathedral.
