Seven day quarantine for some travellers to Guernsey

Similar measures being considered on IOM

Guernsey is to introduce a 7 day quarantine period for some arrivals from Monday 17 August.

People will be allowed to come out of self-isolation after a week if they have a negative test result for Covid-19.

Those not willing to have a test will still need to complete 14 days.

Visitors from the Isle of Man are exempt due to the air-bridge arrangement.

The 7 day regime has been discussed here but no decision is due to be made until the end of August.

In Guernsey, there are exceptions as passengers coming from some areas of the UK could still be required to serve a 14 day mandatory self-isolation.

There are similar restrictions on people arriving from the Brittany or St. Malo region of France.

The move has been introduced to make it more viable for islanders to visit loved ones and to travel with students to universities.
