White Paper published on future relationship with the EU
The chief minister says a White Paper on the UK's future relationship with the EU after Brexit 'reflects the Island's main objectives'.
It's after new Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab set out his plans to the House of Commons yesterday (12 July).
Just seven days ago, UK Prime Minister Theresa May sought to get the approval of her Cabinet for her Brexit proposals.
Since then, David Davis has resigned from his role as Brexit Secretary - replaced by Mr Raab - and former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson followed suit soon after.
Despite those two high-profile figures objecting - along with a number of Eurosceptic backbench MPs - the plans seem to be popular with Howard Quayle.
He's called them 'positive' and welcomes Downing Street's position, which aims to preserve the Island's existing and economic relationship with the UK and to remain in the Common Travel Area.
The UK's proposals will now be considered by the EU negotiating team.
