Professor Curran's climate change report released

Report to be presented to Tynwald later this month

The findings of a Climate Emergency Consultative Transformation Team, spearheaded by an independent expert, Professor James Curran, have been released today.

The team was appointed by the Manx Government in July, and given six months to report back with an action plan for how the Island can play its part in mitigating the effects of global overheating.

It was made up of representatives from government departments, climate change specialists, as well as two politicians - Ralph Peake MHK, and Jane Poole-Wilson MLC.

Those six months are now up - and the findings of that team, presented as a report, will be laid before Tynwald at this month's sitting, which will take place on Tuesday, 21 January.

You can see the report in full by clicking here.

Professor James Curran, and Chief Minister Howard Quayle spoke to Manx Radio's Dollin Mercer about its contents, and what will happen next:

You can see phase one of the Isle of Man Government Action Plan for Achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050 by clicking here - that document will also be laid before Tynwald at this month's sitting.
