"Probably the best drinking water in the world"

Refill Isle of Man launched

A political member of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says the Isle of Man has "probably the best drinking water in the world".

Martyn Perkins, the member with responsibility for reducing use of single-use plastics, made the comments at the official launch of 'Refill Isle of Man' yesterday (Mon 14).

The scheme encourages local businesses to allow customers to top up their water bottles for free, in an attempt to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles we use - at present, it's thought the average adult gets through three per week.

The initiative is the brainchild of UK company City to Sea, and DEFA is to be the licensed operator for the programme on the Island, along with UNESCO Biosphere IoM.
