Police ask public not to judge all cyclists

'Actions of few don't represent all' - IOM Constabulary

Police are asking drivers not to judge all cyclists based on the actions of few.

In a post on the IOM Constabulary Facebook page, officers commended the number of people who have taken up cycling during lockdown for health benefits and to travel to work.

However, the force acknowledges a number of negative posts circulating about cyclists on the roads and says these posts 'don't represent the vast numbers of well-behaved riders'.

Police say they'll continue their road safety work, with cycle education acting as an important part of that, and ask when you see a cyclist, walker or runner on the road, to give them plenty of room when passing.
