Owners counting the cost of lockdown pets

MSPCA believes some new owners didn't fully consider costs involved

The MSPCA fears that the recent spike in the cost of living could be contributing to an increase in the number of dogs coming into their care.

The Isle of Man's inflation rate stands at over 8 per cent and is predicted to rise further in the coming months as big increases in the price of food, fuel and energy filter through.

Krish Baruk of the MSPCA says the pandemic brought about a spike in dog ownership but some owners didn't fully consider the costs involved:
