Only seven businesses apply for Accessibility Grant

The grant was introduced in 2020

Only seven businesses have applied for the Department of Enterprise Accessibility Grant - of which six were successful.

That's according to Enterprise Minister Lawrie Hooper, in a written answer to Douglas South MHK, Sarah Maltby.

She asked how many businesses had made an application, how many were successful, what the funding was and what his department is doing to raise awareness of the grant.

The grant was introduced in 2020 following approval from the Economic Recovery Group to support businesses.

A total of £31,834 went towards the costs of accessibility improvements to the six businesses.

Mr Hooper added the grant is promoted on an ongoing basis including at events, print and online news articles and online marketing.
