'No sign of virus prevention' says returning Islander

Paul Rowlands saw no signs of coronavirus checking in four airport visits

An Onchan man who faced problems returning to the Island, says he saw no signs of coronavirus screening in four different UK airports.

Paul Rowlands rescheduled flights from four different airports in three days due to disruptions caused by Storm Ciara.

He and his wife traveled back and forth from London City, to Gatwick to Heathrow and then Dublin, before returning to the Island this afternoon.

Paul says there was very little to suggest there had been a viral outbreak:

Meanwhile, in its latest statement on action, designed to prepare for any possible coronvirus cases on the island , government says talks have been taking place with senior officers.

It says there have been no confirmed Manx cases of what is now being termed COVID-19.

But it adds that anyone whose symptoms match with the criteria set by Public Health England for further investigation  are being tested for coronovirus.

There is no word as to whether the Island has, or is, contemplating setting up any sort of quarantine location for use if any cases are discovered.
