No cruise ship visitors this year

Council of Ministers hopes cruise trips will return in 2022

No cruise ships will be coming to the Isle of Man this year.

The Council of Ministers reviewed the situation when making recent changes to the Island's border measures.

It's decided against allowing cruise passengers to visit.

In a statement to Manx Radio Visit Isle of Man says CoMin is committed to reviewing the situation again at a suitable time.

It adds that it hopes to welcome cruise ships in 2022 subject to the situation at the time.

Two remaining cruise visits were scheduled to take place this year.

Earlier this year government contacted cruise ships, provisionally interested in visiting the Island, to state they wouldn't be able to dock until border restrictions changed.

While unvaccinated Manx residents are now able to come to the Island, without undergoing testing and self-isolation upon arrival, visitors still have to go through the testing pathway if they haven't reached 2+2 status.
