Manx athlete to take on 268 mile 'Spine Race'

Orran Smith hoping to raise money for MS charity

A local athlete is taking on his most challenging event to date this weekend: The Spine Race.

It's a 268 mile continuous pursuit along the Pennine Way - starting in the South Dales and finishing in Scotland.

Competitors have 160 hours to complete the feat.

Orran Smith is raising money for the IOM MS Society after finding out his friend had developed the disease.

He spoke to Rhian Evans:

Orran Smith will be battling The Spine Race this weekend, you can find his JustGiving page here and also a up-to-date blog on his progress here.
