Man caught with drugs to be sentenced next month

Accused pleads guilty to possessing cocaine and cannabis

A man who was caught with cannabis and cocaine when police responded to a noise complaint at his home will be sentenced next month.

Jake Thomas Gerard Lindon of Queen's Promenade in Douglas appeared via a live video link before Deemster Cook at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

He admitted possessing cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply them and had pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and criminal property at a previous hearing in a lower court.

Officers went to Lindon's home just before 2am on 7 December last year after neighbours complained about noise.

Lindon was inside with two others, and police found 17 grammes of cannabis worth around £340 and more than £3,000 in cash.

When he was searched at Police Headquarters, officers found he was carrying eight wraps of cocaine with a street value of around £800.

His advocate asked for social enquiry reports to be completed by the probation service before he’s sentenced, pointing out Lindon was just 18 at the time of the offences.

There was no bail application, and Lindon was remanded in custody to appear for sentencing on 24 June.
