Malew Commissioners to end kerbside paper collections

Recycling service 'no longer financially viable'

Malew Commissioners will no longer offer kerbside collections of paper throughout the parish.

The local authority says it's no longer financially viable to run the service, with the volume of paper collected 'reducing dramatically' in recent years.

It's claimed the move will free up resources for other tasks, with ratepayers  encouraged to use 'bring bank' facilities in the parish instead.

The future of grass collections, which have now finished for the year, is also up in the air, with commissioners expected to make a decision soon.
