Dr Rachel Glover previously clashed with ministers
The lead scientist behind the Island's Covid-19 testing lab says she's resigned from the DHSC.
Dr Rachel Glover had previously clashed with ministers, taking aim on social media.
In a series of tweets, Dr Glover originally said she'd not been asked to contribute to a document on the testing regime being prepared for the Council of Ministers.
More recently she was caught in a dispute with Health Minister David Ashford over the terms of her employment.
Where did I go, I hear you all ask? Well, I resigned from the DHSC and needed a breather for 24 hours so I deactivated my account for a day.— Dr. Rachel Glover 🇮🇲🧬 (@rachomics) October 29, 2020
When asked whether Dr Glover would continue to work with the on-Island testing centre, she said she 'hopes to'.
I hope to be as I've put my heart and soul into setting up on-Island testing and keeping it running. It's too important to walk away from. It's all going to depend on contracts, as you would expect, but I would hope that the DHSC will continue to work with me.— Dr. Rachel Glover 🇮🇲🧬 (@rachomics) October 29, 2020
Dr Glover declined an interview with Manx Radio.
