Order paper has 89 questions, over half for oral answer

They are just some of the topics to be discussed in Tynwald today.

A busy day for members awaits with a packed order paper.

Among the topics up for discussion - Garff member Daphne Caine will ask the chief minister how the government plans to limit the additional demand on the Isle of Man Foodbank over the school summer holidays.

The charity often reports an increase in parents seeking help over the break due to children not receiving free school meals over the summer months.

She revealed the foodbank has already been contacted by one concerned parent.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew member Jason Moorhouse wants to know what progress government has made on its plans to reduce its use of single-use plastics.

Plans were brought before Tynwald last year to cut the use of items such as plastic cups and cutlery at government events, and ensure government buildings provide tap water.

A further document outlining plans to ban all single use plastics will be considered today.

Marlene Maska MLC wants to know what's being done to ensure owners of registered buildings receive adequate support.

The question is going to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot, who’s due to make a statement.

Mrs Maska is keen to ensure DEFA is providing proper protection of registered buildings, and specialist advice if offered to owners
