Wreath laying ceremony takes place in Douglas on 80th anniversary
The Isle of Man has begun marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
On 6 June 1944, troops from the allied nations landed in Normandy to take on German forces in occupied France.
At 6:30am this morning, the same time the boats arrived on the beaches 80 years ago, a wreath-laying ceremony took place by the war memorial on Douglas promenade.
