Island treated to 'often overlooked' Quadrantid meteor shower

Meteors peak Sunday night into Monday morning

The Island's dark skies should provide a great viewing platform to catch a metoer shower this weekend, more visible in the current clear conditions.

The Quadrantid shower is to peak this evening, into tomorrow morning (3/4 January).

They're an annual appearance, and this year followed a Grand Conjunction over Christmas - where Jupiter and Saturn passed by each other, the closest in a generation.
