Heroin-dealing charges dropped against two men

One remanded in custody for other offences

Prosecutors have dropped heroin-dealing charges against two men.

Alexander Charles Messenger, care of the Isle of Man Prison, and Michael David Nelson of Parliament Street in Ramsey appeared at Douglas Courthouse.

High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard a charge that the two jointly possessed the class A drug with intent to supply it, was being withdrawn.

Messenger admitted a second charge, of possessing £3,400 in criminal property, while Mr Nelson walked free from the dock.

Prosecution advocate Roger Kane told the court Messenger committed the offence in St Mary’s Avenue in Port St Mary on January 11.

Messenger, aged 37, is awaiting trial for other offences at the court of General Gaol Delivery.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at the higher court on April 1.
