A Manx charity has published a newsletter to encourage discussion around homelessness on the Isle of Man.
The inaugural Graih Gazette has raised the question: why is there homelessness on an Island in a society of such abundance?
In juxtaposition with the £733m profits reportedly made by the e-gaming industry last year, co-founder of the homeless charity Graih and now Editor of the Gazette, Michael Manning, has released some 'numbers to ponder' ahead of the Island's busy TT period.
Operating costs at Graih came to just under £40,000 in 2017 as the charity came into contact with 202 different individuals in 2017, compared to last year's 167.
Signing off, he said 'homelessness isn't just a symptom of the brokenness of people, it is a symptom of the broken system we inhabit.'
