Gig tickets which are resold for profit on the Isle of Man will become ‘voidable’.

That’s the message from VillaGaiety which says it operates a strict re-sale policy.

Earlier today the upcoming Paolo Nutini gig, scheduled for 2 August, sold out within 19 minutes.

It led to disappointment from many people who’d been unable to secure tickets.

In response to social media commentary VillaGaiety has confirmed its ticketing system did not crash and the six ticket allocation, per transaction, was ‘strictly adhered to’ across all box office outlets.

Villa Gaiety says it worked hard with the ticketing system provider – TicketSolve – in advance to make the queuing system as fair as possible.

It adds that if a ticket is resold or transferred for profit, or commercial gain, it will become voidable and the holder may be refused entry to the venue without refund.

The VillaGaiety says it will ensure that the Royal Hall is at full capacity with a waiting list available; anyone who can no longer attend is urged to contact the box office.

VillaGaiety can attempt to resell unwanted tickets, at the ticket holder's requests, at face value with the ticket holder being reimbursed for the face value of the ticket.
