Ex-Castle Rushen head says proposals don't look forward

A former headteacher at one of the Island's secondary schools believes the proposed new Education Bill is too backward looking.

Andrew Cole, who retired from his role at Castle Rushen High School in 2014, says the draft legislation is too focused on fixing what is wrong, rather than looking forward to how education should be in Manx schools.

The bill is currently the subject of a seven-week public consultation, which runs until next Wednesday.
