Minister says it was a decision for Council of Ministers
A scientist who sits on the Emergency Advisory Group says it wasn't asked 'for an opinion' on the scrapping of self-isolation.
Dr Rachel Glover made the claim on social media after government revealed it was no longer asking close contacts of someone with Covid-19 to isolate.
Mandatory testing has also been dropped – people are now being asked to use lateral flow tests for seven days and submit the results anonymously instead.
Taking to Twitter Dr Glover also said it was her personal opinion that it was a 'terrible idea' to allow close contacts to collect lateral flow tests from pharmacies.

Asking *close contacts* to pick up their free LFD tests from a chemist is a terrible idea.
Put them in the post with a next-day sticker on. FFS.
The EAG was set up earlier this year to provide external advice, insight and perspective to the Council of Ministers.
