Danger of rising sea levels laid bare in major UK report

Tough decisions will have to be made, says author

Governments must maintain a laser focus on efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, if the dangers of rising sea levels are to be alleviated.

So says Paul Sayer the author of a major report into the threats posed to coastal communities by rising sea levels

Whilst the problems of coastal flooding exist all around the British Isles, his report focused on England, where he estimates nearly 200,000 properties  may have to be abandoned due to rising sea levels by 2050.

Mr Sayers, says tough decisions will have to be made, and it won't be possible to hold the line all around the coast.
