Constabulary working on boosting police officer numbers

Increased budget leads to recruitment drive

The chief constable says the number of police officers in the Isle of Man is in the process of being increased.

The police's budget for the current financial year has been boosted by £3 million, following years of cuts.

Those cuts led to the number of officers being reduced.

Gary Roberts says some of the money will go into technology to help tackle financial crime and some will be invested in training.

He's also explained how many new officers will be recruited and where they will be deployed:
