Committee says 'difficult decisions have had to be made'
There are going to be changes to the opening hours of the Balladoole Amenity Site from the start of next month, with the facility set to be open for only five days a week instead of seven.
The facility will be closed on Sundays and Mondays, a decision the Northern Civic Amenity Site Joint Committee says has been taken with the 'deepest regret'.
They're blaming it on the withdrawal of Bride from the site earlier this year, adding they have had to make some very hard choices on the level of service they're able to deliver going forward.
The site will also open an hour later on Bank Holidays.
The new opening hours from 1 July will be:
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 08:00 to 11:45 and 12:30 to 16:15
Wednesday: 08:00 to 11:45 and 12:30 to 16:15
Thursday: 08:00 to 11:45 and 12:30 to 16:15
Friday: 08:00 to 11:45 and 12:30 to 15:45
Saturday: 08:00 to 16:15 with no lunch time closure
Sunday: CLOSED
Bank Holiday: The site opens an hour later at 09:00.
There will be no reduction or restriction in the availability of the re-use area, and it will remain open as normal at this time.
