Beneficial ownership still in the UK spotlight

Visiting MPs given Isle of Man insight

Two MPs who yesterday (18 June) visited the Island will continue to campaign for public beneficial ownership registers to become an international standard.

That's the view of the Chief Minister, following a day of discussions with Dame Margaret Hodge and Andrew Mitchell.

Both members of the Westminster All Party Group on Responsible Tax, Dame Margaret and Mr Mitchell have in the past called for the crown dependencies to move towards public registers.

Government ministers, along with a delegation of regulatory heads and business leaders, met the pair yesterday.

Howard Quayle says the visitors left with a better understanding of the Isle of Man.
