Around £6,500 worth of damage to steam train after New Year's tree collision

DOI hasn't yet received all invoices though

The cost of repairing the train damaged on New Year's Eve is so far around £6,500.

That figure has been shared by the infrastructure minster in Tynwald this morning.

One of the steam trains suffered damage after it collided with a tree at Ballabeg, causing the dining car service to return to Douglas.

Chris Thomas says his department hasn't received all the invoices yet, and they're taking the opportunity to upgrade the safety glass:
