Met Office issues two amber weather warnings
Winds reaching up to 70mph are expected to hit the Island this morning.
The Isle of Man Met Office has issued two amber weather warnings ahead of the arrival of Storm Brendan.
Severe gales and storm force winds are due to hit the Island between 9am and 5pm today, while coastal overtopping is expected between 10am and 4pm.
Forecasters warn the latter could lead to structural damage at sea walls around the coast, with high water at 1pm.
The Isle of Man Government is warning there could be disruption to school buses later today, with updates to be issued in due course.
Meanwhile, the police are warning the winds combined with heavy rain will lead to treacherous driving conditions, and are urging the public to only travel if necessary, while the Steam Packet Company has cancelled this morning's sailing to Heysham.
