£3million worth of revenue could be lost on TT copyright infringements

DfE says small businesses must check guidelines

Taxpayers could be left with a £3million black hole to fill if government doesn't act on TT copyright infringement, according to the Department for Enterprise.

This comes after company Looney's of Ramsey was stopped from selling T-shirts with the TT initials on them.

A similar instance occurred in 2017, when the former Department of Economic Development threatened to sue Bushy's brewery over its use of the letters in 2017.

Member of the DfE, Rob Callister, says these instances don't mean the department is against small Manx businesses:
