Sure claims 'increasingly desperate' say Manx Telecom

Island operator reaffirms policy position

The public will see through 'desperate' attempts to discredit Manx Telecom, according to the operator's CEO.

In the wake of recent Ofcom proposals, Sure alleged its rival provider was 'pulling the wool over customer's eyes' and making millions of pounds a year because of it.

Gary Lamb of Manx Telecom said their policy for expiring mobile contracts is compliant with new rules proposed by the communications regulator.

In a statement to Manx Radio, Mr Lamb went on to affirm all Pay Monthly customers are advised when their agreement is due to end.

Following what he says were 'increasingly desperate attempts by Sure', the Manx public understand the bigger picture about Manx Telecom's contribution and long-term commitment to the Island.

"Over the past decade we have invested more than £120million in telecoms infrastructure, and today we contribute around £50million every year to the economy and employ some 270 people on the Island"

"These facts demonstrate a commitment to supporting people and businesses in the Isle of Man, and our customers can be confident that this will continue.”
