One person policy 'best practice, not a rule'
A local supermarket says the "one person per family" policy is "a best practice rather than a rule."
Shoprite has received feedback from customers who are unable to shop for essential items without bringing children with them - following government's social distancing guidelines.
A spokesperson says: "we are trying to minimise the number of people in the stores at any one time, to decrease the risk to our staff for obvious reasons."
But, the organisation adds it recognises there are 'extenuating circumstances', and stores across the Island have been asked to ensure children are let in "if there really is no choice."
In those cases, children "must be in a trolley or walking next to their parent at all times," the supermarket says.
