Remaining stock to be auctioned off
Jurby Junk's owner insists when the shop closes next month, it will be for good.
The curious tourist attraction, spanning two warehouses filled with knick-knacks and literature, announced it was shutting down last August.
Stella Pixton, who has run the shop since 1976, blamed the decision on mounting rent costs on the government-owned land.
But Jurby Junk reopened in a last-ditch attempt to sell off its remaining stock, which Miss Pixton claims is in excess of 'a million' items.
It was understood a private buyer was taking up the entire stock of books, but this is reported to have fallen through.
Jurby Junk is now set to close down on 1 September, after which the remaining items inside will be auctioned off.
