Community set up to encourage local entrepreneurs
The Barclays Eagle Lab is celebrating its first year of helping local entrepreneurs and businesses.
Created in June last year, the Lab's opening was driven by a desire to encourage economic growth on the Island.
In its first 12 months the community resource has hosted hundreds of events, welcomed more than 4000 visitors and supported thirty new businesses on the Island, including an interior design company, a creative digital agency and an international pet food brand.
The Lab provides a space to help start-ups across all industries in the community, along with mentoring, training workshops and 'Maker Space' to support prototype development.
Simon Pickering from Finance Isle of Man says the Lab is a great example of what can be achieved through private/ public sector involvement working together.
