#MRWomenToday listen again: Sex Ed for teens, Dr John and MAD Jane!

On the programme today: -

- we were joined in the studio by two of our regular contributors; firstly, our Women Today resident GP, Dr John Snelling; we talked with him about how best to deal with (and avoid!) the dreaded sickness bug that seems to be doing the rounds again (remember - rehydration and do NOT go to the DR surgery if you have 'D&V'); we talked about awareness and misconceptions of meningitis, especially regarding teenagers who are in a high risk category; and we looked at today's worrying news that 1 in 4 teenage girls in the UK is depressed;

- on the theme of teenagers, we looked at research carried out by Durex that has found shocking gaps in youth knowledge about safe sex, and also suggests that a worrying percentage are turning to online porn for answers; we heard from Durex Sex and Relationships Expert Alix Fox, and qualified youth worker and sexual health trainer John Hancock who both gave excellent advice and insight on the topic; there is a wealth of excellent further information on these websites that were mentioned in the interview: BrookThe FPA and BISH.

- on a similar theme, we asked you at what age you think children should be taught about sex and whose responsibility it is;

- and we were also joined by our Women Today Arts Correspondent Jane Hall from the Manx Art Directory, who told us about some fabulous exhibitions around the Island at the moment, including the SOFA architecture event at the Sayle Gallery and the launch of Eileen Schaer's new exhibition this coming weekend.

If you missed the show, listen again at this link for the next 7 days.
