Angels in America

On the show this week, we find out about live theatre screenings in the north of the Island, Ruth Keggin takes us behind the scenes as she prepares to head back into the recording studio and Art teacher from Liverpool, Emily Wilson shares her experiences as Education and Volunteer Co-ordinator at Eleonas Refugee Camp in Athens.

If you have anything creative you’d like to share with us here at Spotlight, do get in touch through the Manx Radio Facebook page or at Spotlight@manxradio.com

Headteacher of Ramsey Grammar School Annette Baker and co-ordinator of the school’s live theatre screenings, Cathy Cain tell us how they're West End theatre to the North, with the help of the Isle of Man Arts Council and National Theatre Live - find tickets to their upcoming screening events here.

The lovely Ruth Keggin joins us for a cup of tea - and we’re lucky to catch her because she’s a very busy bee! Find her on Facebook to keep up-to-date with her upcoming projects with Nish as Rish and some exciting charity work, details of which are yet to be released (you heard it here first!).

Our final guest this week is a remarkable lady from Liverpool. Emily Wilson, an Art & Design teacher who up until very recently, was teaching in Seville, has taken her creative talents to Eleonas Refugee Camp in Athens through Project Elea. I gave her a call to ask how all of this came about. Follow Project Elea on Facebook for more information about their Amazon Wishlist where you can donate books to the Camp's library, and head to the Project's website for more on volunteering and to donate items.

Do join us again next Wednesday at 5:30pm and in the meantime keep in touch through the Manx Radio Facebook page and through Spotlight@manxradio.com
