Former Island resident extends stay at club until 2027

Former Island resident Bevan Rodd has signed a new contract with Premiership Rugby outfit Sale Sharks.

The ex-Buchan School pupil has put pen to paper on a three-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2027.

Having joined the Sale academy in 2018 he made his debut a year later and has gone on to make nearly 80 first-team appearances.

Speaking to Sale Sharks, Rodd says 'there was never any doubt about wanting to stay', adding 'we've shown we can compete for the big trophies and I'm really excited to see what this group can achieve together in the years to come.'

As well as shining at club level, the now 23-year-old has also previously represented England at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 level before receiving his first senior call-up in 2021.

Elsewhere, Rodd has been nominated for Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year in the latest Isle of Man Sports Awards taking place on Wednesday, 28 February.
