Reigning golf champ knocked out

Kevin Moore and Jonathan Corke in semi-finals

Reigning Isle of Man Men's Golf Champion Paul Lowey has been knocked out of this year's event.

The five-time winner from Rowany was beaten by two-time former title holder, Kevin Moore, by the narrow margin of one hole at Ramsey last night (Wed).

Moore will now face Jonathan Corke in the semi-finals.

The other last four contest will be between another former winner, 2010 champion, Daryl Callister and Tom Gandy.

In the Ladies Championship, the finalists from a year ago are both through.

Champion, Breeshey Jansen, was pressed hard by Catherine Cassidy before a strong finish and Shirley Price overcame Jane Gaines in a tight contest.

Price will play Joy Morris and Jansen faces Lynda Simpson for a place in the final on Saturday.
