Death of Dan Hegarty overshadows race

The death of former TT Privateer Champion Dan Hegarty marred the 2017 Macau Grand Prix

The 31 year-old from Nottingham came off his Top Gun Racing Honda at Fisherman’s Bend.

The race was immediately red-flagged.

Manx Radio sports editor Tim Glover spoke to him a few months back and said he was a rider with real pedigree.

Glenn Irwin won from Peter Hickman and Michael Rutter.

The Manxies fared well with Conor Cummins in fifth spot and Dan Kneen from Braddan in 11th.
