Woman rescued from rocks on Head

Five emergency services called to scene

Emergency services say a woman rescued from rocks on Douglas Head is on her way to hospital (30 June).

A major operation has been underway involving the Coastguard, RNLI, fire and rescue and ambulance services and the police.

The woman, named as Aurelie Riley, was lifted from the cliff face to a lifeboat and is thought to have suffered minor injuries to her legs, arms and back. Her condition isn't known.

The road up to Marine Drive was closed for several hours, to allow access for emergency vehicles.

Police have thanked the public for their concern and assistance.
