Vandals hunted after wrecking spree

Sports clubs in Ramsey the latest target

Police in Ramsey have appealed for help from the public to trace vandals who've caused a spate of damage at facilities in and around the town.

Sharp metal items were found buried in the pitch at Ramsey rugby club this morning (30 Aug), while two greens at the golf club were wrecked when a pole was thrust repeatedly into the grass. A dozen rakes used on the course have been stolen.

Two nights ago, vandals struck at Milntown estate on the outskirts of Ramsey, upending a stone bench into a pond and ripping up lighting.

Meanwhile, fences at the MER tram station were kicked in overnight on Sunday (27/28 Aug) and left damaged beyond repair.

Officers believe the same people may have been involved in several of the attacks and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
